Alexander Kerry jailed for murder of woman aged 82

A man who took the life of an 82-year-old woman was today handed a life prison sentence at Norwich Crown Court with a minimum term of 25½ years.

Alexander Kerry, 23, pleaded guilty yesterday on the first day of trial, to the murder of Pauline King.

The vicious attack happened at Mrs King's home in The Avenues, Norwich, on February 22, 2015.

Mrs King died after a sustained and ferocious attack, the court heard, which left her with more than 80 injuries to her body.

Prosecuting lawyer Richard White said:"Kerry has shown no remorse for his actions which took the life of an elderly and defenceless woman in her own home.

"His attack was malicious, unrelenting and horrific and we are pleased he has been brought to justice."
