Frank Ferguson: Acting Deputy Chief Crown Prosecutor

Frank Ferguson, Acting Deputy CCP Frank is a barrister who was called to the Bar in 1992, joining the CPS as a legal trainee, firstly in Chambers in Southampton and then at the former Bedford CPS office. He moved to CPS Norfolk as Crown Prosecutor in 1993, became a Higher Courts Advocate in 2001 and head of the Norfolk Western Team in 2002. In 2004 he joined CPS Direct as part of the management team implementing the out of hours charging service nationally. From November 2006 until August 2010 he was the District Crown Prosecutor for the City Team in Norwich.

He served as temporary CCP for Cambridgeshire from September 2010 to October 2011 and led the restructure of the county into the single office.  He was promoted to acting Senior District Crown Prosecutor in May 2012 and took up the post permanently in December 2012.

Frank is Chair of the Area Reform Board for the East of England looking at the implementation of the refocusing of the CPS following the 2010 Spending Review.

He became Acting DCCP in May 2013.
