Victims and Witnesses

Going to Court can be a stressful experience. In this section you will find information which we hope will make the experience more manageable.

This section includes:

• information on our Witness Care Unit which provides assistance to victims and witnesses in cases which are not dealt with the first time they are in Court;
• pictures of all of the Dorset Courts so that you can see what the court room and waiting areas will look like before you go to Court;
• information on the Prosecutor's Pledge, a ten point Pledge that describes the level of service that victims can expect to receive from prosecutors;
• information on the Victims Code of Practice which explains the standards of service that victims can expect from the Criminal Justice System.
