Derbyshire Criminal Justice Board
Through the Derbyshire Criminal Justice Board (CJB) we work in close partnership with our colleagues across all the criminal justice agencies to improve the way the criminal justice system (CJS) works to catch, convict and rehabilitate criminals.
Derbyshire CJB was formed in April 2003 and is made up of chief officers from the police, CPS, Her Majesty's Courts Service, Youth Offending Service, National Probation Service and Her Majesty's Prison Service, who work closely to ensure that joint targets are met. Together their key aims are to:
- put victims and witnesses at the heart of the CJS;
- bring more offences to justice;
- tackle persistent young offenders; and
- increase public confidence in the CJS.
Denise White is the chair of the CJB, taking over the role from Mr Brian Gunn CCP of Derbyshire's Crown Prosecution Service in 2007. Our staff also sit on all the Board's sub-groups.
