CPS caseworker shortlisted for national award
06/10/2006
A caseworker at Derbyshire CPS has been shortlisted for the national Justice Awards.
The Justice Awards were established to celebrate the efforts and successes of staff and volunteers in improving the criminal justice system. Alison Doyle-Stevenson was nominated in the 'outstanding contribution in caring for victims' category for the key role she played in producing a DVD as part of the NSPCC Carers' Project. The Project supports parents and carers of sexually abused children and the DVD can be used as a training aid for CJS staff working with victims of sexual abuse.

Alison is one of five shortlisted nominees from Derbyshire. The nominees for this year's awards were recognised at a local ceremony held on October 6 at the Derbyshire CPS offices. Alison is pictured here receiving her local award from Chief Crown Prosecutor and Chair of the Local Criminal Justice Board Brian Gunn.
On the same day a cross-agency sifting group made up of senior officials and representatives of organisations and charities connected to criminal justice met to select three finalists from each category to be put forward to the Ministerial Judging Panel. The panel will then select a winner from each category, and the overall winner of the Justice Shield, to be announced at the national awards ceremony in London on 23 November.
