Who's who at CPS Derbyshire
At any one time we employ over 100 staff, including:
- Lawyers called Crown Prosecutors, who may be either solicitors or barristers
- Caseworkers
- Administrative personnel
- Business managers
The Chief Crown Prosecutor for Derbyshire is Brian Gunn (pictured below). He has overall responsibility for the Area and reports directly to the East Midlands Group Chief Crown Prosecutor, Judith Walker.
He is assisted by the Derbyshire Management Team (DMT), which includes:
Chris Mitchell, Area Business Manager, who has responsibility for managing human resources, our Area budget and systems.
Brenda Whittaker, Head of the Trials Unit, who is responsible for managing the team that deals with cases heard in Derby Crown Court.
Michael Parker, Head of the North Criminal Justice Unit, who manages the team responsible for cases heard at Chesterfield and Buxton magistrates' courts.
Neil Hoodless, Head of the South Criminal Justice Unit, who manages the team responsible for cases heard at Derby and Ilkeston magistrates' courts.
