CPS Legal Trainee Scheme

The CPS Legal Trainee Scheme (LTS) closed 23rd February 2017, offering more than 30 positions to candidates interested in becoming qualified barristers or solicitors through:

• Pupillage - 1 year in duration
• Periods of recognised training (PRT) - 2 years in duration

As a legal trainee you would earn a starting salary of £23,276 per annum (more in London) and get a minimum of 25 days annual leave.

On successful qualification you will be offered a permanent post as a Crown Prosecutor. You will gain the necessary skills and competence to apply for Senior Crown Prosecutor posts through regular recruitment procedures.

Pupillage and training contracts will begin in November 2017.
