The Attorney General: Dominic Grieve QC MP
The Solicitor General: Edward Garnier QC MP
The Attorney General, assisted by the Solicitor General, his deputy, provides the Government with advice on a range of legal matters, including proposed legislation. The Attorney General has final responsibility for enforcing criminal law. The Director of Public Prosecutions, for the Crown Prosecution Service, is answerable to Parliament through the Attorney General.
