Sector Directors

At present, London is the only Crown Prosecution Service Area with Sector Directors. Because of London's size and scale of operations, the 1998 Glidewell Report recommended that the Chief Crown Prosecutor for London should be supported by a number of assistants.

Their specific responsibilities include:

  • Carrying out prosecutions including personal involvement in cases.
  • Representing the CPS to the public and to Criminal Justice System partners.
  • Contributing to the formulation and implementation of Area policy and strategy.

Sector Directors are accountable to the Chief Crown Prosecutor for casework and overall performance.
