Item 1: Welcome and introductions

1. The Director welcomed the members of the new streamlined Board and set out his expectations for its future role.

Item 2: Note of last meeting and actions arising

2. The Board agreed the note from the last Board meeting held on 30 July 2007 and the update on actions arising from that meeting.

Item 3: Director's update

3. The Director updated the Board on issues that had arisen since the last Board meeting.

Item 4: Revised Vision and Strategy

4. The Board signed off the new Vision and Strategy and approved its launch.

Item 5: The Flanagan Report

5. The Board received an update on the interim report on the review of policing by Sir Ronnie Flanagan.

Item 6: Capability Review

6. The Director welcomed Cabinet Secretary Sir Gus O'Donnell and his team from the Prime Minister's Delivery Unit (PMDU) to the CPS Board.

7. Sir Gus attended the CPS Board for an informal stock-take of progress on the implementation of Capability Review Actions.

8. Sir Gus congratulated the Board on the progress that it had made to date. He looked forward to revisiting in January 2008.

Item 7: Leadership and management capability

9. A paper was presented to the Board updating it on the implementation of the leadership and management development strategy.

Item 8: CPS Management Framework

10. The Board considered a paper on the development of the CPS Management Review. It approved the direction of travel and asked for an update at a later stage.

Item 9: Delivery Assurance Report – Q1

11. The Board considered the Assurance Report and was satisfied with the course of action outlined for any reported exceptions.

Item 10: Any other business

12. There was no AOB.
